Continuing Education Short Courses
Preparatory short courses provide non-credit, self-paced refresher material to prepare you to successfully complete the graduate-level automotive engineering courses. If you need to brush up on the Matlab software used in the automotive credit courses, or if you need to review linear systems theory, CAR prep short courses provide a flexible, elearning solution.
The newest short course, Linear Systems Theory, cover concepts in state methods of analysis and design of linear dynamical systems, coordinate transformations and tools of advanced linear algebra, controllability and observability, pole placement via state feedback and state estimation for deterministic models.
Cost for the preparatory short courses range from $750 for an 8-hr./full day to $1295 for a 16-hr./two-day short course.
Non-credit, self-paced short courses are available on a variety of Advanced Propulsion topics such as alternative fuels, electrical storage systems, power electronics for automotive applications, and Matlab for data analysis. New short courses in lightweight design and SIL-HIL techniques for automotive control development have been added.
Cost of the Advanced Propulsion short courses range from $700-$900, depending on the length of the short course.
