NASA Lunar Surface Technology Research (LUSTR)
Flexible DC-Energy Router based on Energy Storage Integrated Circuit Breaker
NASA is looking to U.S. universities for lunar-focused research to bring about advancements in sustainable power solutions and available resource utilization.
Goal: Create and demonstrate a modular DC-energy router that can function as a power flow controller and an intelligent circuit breaker for the lunar microgrid
CAR Role: Define and implement diagnostic algorithms capable of diagnose and isolate the many faults that can happen in a complex grid architecture to support the DC-energy router functions.
