Junmin Wang, assistant professor in the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, has been selected to receive a CAREER award from the National Science Foundation. The title of his proposal is "Integrated Estimation and Control of Over-Actuated Electric Lightweight Vehicles (LWV) for Safe and Sustainable Mobility." Wang's award is from NSF’s Division of Civil, Mechanical, and Manufacturing Innovation. The objective of this research is to improve LWV motion control performance under extreme conditions. If successful, the research has the potential to dramatically improve the safety of LWVs. In addition, the research could further advance the control of other over-actuated systems.
