Ohio State Center for Automotive Research senior technician Gianpaolo Noschese welds the flange of a natural gas compressor prototype licensed by Simple-Fill.
"Engineers in the Center for Automotive Research postulated they could create an energy efficient natural gas compressor that would be ideal to fill small- and medium-sized vehicles." Now that idea is becoming reality. The university's Technology Commercialization Office introduced startup entrepreneur, Rob Underhill, to the concept and he was immediately onboard. The team is in the alpha prototype stage of building the compressor, which aims to serve small vehicle fleets. Adam King explores some benefits of compressed natural gas and talks to Underhill in his recent onCampus article, "OSU ideas become companies with new startup funding."
