Ohio State-China collaboration efforts are moving forward and a new faculty member is among those joining the ranks of the China Gateway Faculty Advisory Committee. CAR Director Giorgio Rizzoni, a long-time leader in the university’s joint work with China, became part of the advisory group this semester.

The committee was established in 2010 at the beginning of the Ohio State Globalization process in order to enhance the long-term success of the project.

As key partners for the China Gateway, Rizzoni—along with five existing members and five new members—will advise the project on the core functions of the office in Shanghai, as well as developing a set of goals and priorities for future visits to China. They will also provide guidance to Director Phoebe You on enhancing education abroad, research and degree program opportunities in China.

“In addition to advising us on how to develop our programs in China, we also hope this will be a platform to connect faculty who are working in China or on China related programs,” says You.

The committee meets twice yearly and the next meeting is scheduled for February 2017.
