Fall External Advisory Board Meeting Focused on Mobility, Innovation and Collaboration

On Friday, October 4, 2019 industry, government and campus partners attended The Ohio State Center for Automotive Research's (CAR) semiannual External Advisory Board meeting.

The meeting provided an opportunity to highlight CAR’s capabilities in a variety of labs including the new Battery Labs and the Driving Dynamics Lab. The fall meeting also gave opportunity to unveil the 2019 CAR Annual Report to industry partners in attendance.

Guest speakers included Dietmar Goericke, managing director, research and development for Research Association for Combustion Engines, a globally unique network of companies, universities, research centers and funding organizations based in Germany and Jeff Sansky, Global Business Development Director at Transportation Research Center who provided an update on the recently opened SMARTCenter.  

The student motorsports teams also shared updates from their 2019 competition season and took the opportunity to thank their sponsors, many in attendance, for their generous contributions to their teams.

Following the meeting, many stayed to celebrate the 20th Anniversary of Giorgio Rizzoni as CAR’s Director. Colleagues, past and present shared their favorite memories and a plaque was presented in Rizzoni’s honor which is on display in CAR’s newly renovated front lobby.
