Qadeer Ahmed, a research associate professor in the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, has been appointed to a 3-year term as technical editor for IEEE/ASME Transactions on Mechatronics (TMECH).

As a member of the TMECH Journal Editorial Board, Ahmed is responsible for assisting the journal in reviewing the papers and maintaining the high quality of the journal. Ahmed has previously served on the conference editorial boards for the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, International Federation of Automatic Control, American Society of Mechanical Engineers, and Society of Automotive Engineers.

“My six years of experience on conference editorial boards as well as my work in automotive systems at CAR has prepared me well for this role.  In academia, it’s important to be engaged in professional societies and I’m looking forward to the opportunity to serve in this capacity,” said Ahmed.

TMECH is a bi-monthly periodical providing high-quality archival journals on the art, recent advances and practical applications of mechatronics. The Journal Editorial Board is made up of a select group of professors and PhD students from across the country who are considered experts in their field.
