EcoCAR at All Science Day

The Center for Automotive Research (CAR), along with DriveOhio, the PAST Foundation and various community volunteers spent a day with elementary school students at Stevenson Elementary in Grandview Heights for their All Science Day, a day devoted to giving kids hands on experiences related to different areas of science.

The event included nine hands on activity stations ranging from learning about how the brain works, to chemical reactions.

Members of the Ohio State EcoCAR team were on hand for the event Their project looked at various technologies that are already in vehicles, and asked the students to come up with unique solutions to deploy these technologies for enhanced safety and connectivity.

“The future of mobility rests on the shoulders of these young, innovative minds who aren’t constrained by equations or formulas telling them why their idea might not work,” said CAR Events and Outreach Manager, Jennifer Humphrey. “It was exciting to see them think creatively and work as a team to come up with new solutions for the problems we put in front of them.”
