Athar Hanif

Athar Hanif was recently elevated to a Senior Member of IEEE. Senior Member is the highest professional grade of IEEE and requires extensive experience and reflects professional accomplishment and maturity. Only 10% of more than 400,000 IEEE members have achieved this level.

Hanif is a senior research associate engineer at the Center for Automotive Research. His research is focused primarily on powertrain control, power electronics converters and their control and electric drive systems.

Hanif is currently working on the DOE and PACCAR funded project, part of the SuperTruck initiative, where control oriented models are developed for optimal management of electric hotel loads in the Mild Hybrid Line Haul Truck.

He is also working on a project investigating the variety of road loads experienced by school buses in a particular school district.

“I am deeply privileged by IEEE to recognize me as a senior member,” said Hanif. “This will help me connect with other researchers in my area of expertise across the world and work together for the benefit of underserved communities.”
