Ohio State’s Formula SAE student organization, the Formula Buckeyes, competed at Formula SAE events in Michigan this past May and June. There to support them were the Motor City Buckeyes Alumni Club, which is a group of Ohio State alumni who now live in Detroit, Michigan.

About 10 or so members of the Motor City Buckeyes were there to support the Formula Buckeyes with a $500 donation to help pay for their housing and food.

The Formula Buckeyes did well, ending up 31st out of 99 registered teams. For years, the Motor City Buckeyes have been supporting the Formula Buckeyes and they plan to continue in the future. Member of Motor City Buckeyes Alumni Club David Emerling says. “As an Ohio State alumnus that has lived behind enemy lines (Detroit) for over 41 years, it brings me joy to support our students when they are visiting our state up north.  The Formula Buckeye team has been competing here for many years and supporting them while they are here has been a highlight every year.”
