Ron Reese Recognized with Prestigious Blaser Award

The recipient of the 2023 Dwight Blaser Meritorious Service Award is Ron Reese, senior technical fellow, ICE combustion and thermodynamics at Stellantis. This award is presented annually to individuals or organizations whose sustained and extraordinary services have had a significant and lasting effect on the advancement of Ohio State’s Center for Automotive Research (CAR).

Reese has over 38 years of experience in engine system development, with 20+ years leading advanced and production programs.

“Ron has served as a key connection between Ohio State and Chrysler, FCA and now Stellantis for over 20 years,” said CAR Director Giorgio Rizzoni. “His dedication to the success of this relationship has been exceptional and he deserves to be 
                                                                                  recognized with the Blaser award.”

Ron serves as a champion for collaboration, industry partnerships and student recruitment between Stellantis and Ohio State. He has been the dedicated Stellantis representative on the CAR External Advisory Board for over two decades.

“I must admit, I am a little biased when it comes to THE Ohio State University,” said Reese. “I grew up in Ohio; I graduated from there. That said, it has been amazing to watch the progress that has occurred at Ohio State, and specifically at CAR. CAR has built world-class capabilities through its staff and facilities that continue to evolve to address the needs of industry. The experiential learning opportunities CAR provides to its students is a great enhancement to their education and trains them well to become our engineers of the future. I am pleased to have been part of strengthening the connection between Stellantis and CAR, and humbled and honored to receive such a prestigious award.
