Posted:

Giorgio Rizzoni, Yann Guezennec, Marcello Canova and Simona Onori taught short courses June 24-July 5, 2013 at Stuttgart International Summer School. During the program professional engineers learned systems competence in electric, hybrid and combustion powertrains.

The two week program focused on "Energy Analysis and Modeling of Hybrid Electric Vehicles" (Rizzoni), "Control and Optimization of Hybrid Electric Vehicles" (Onori), and "Introduction to Electrochemical Energy Conversion and Storage Systems for Automotive Applications" (Guezennec, Canova). Lecturers from the University of Stuttgart taught "Introduction to Electrochemical Energy Conversion for Electrical Vehicle Application" (Nejila Parspour) and "Vehicle Aerodynamics and Aeroacoustics" (Jochen Wiedemann).

This educational program for working engineers from the automotive field was the second installment in the annual program at Forschungsinstitut für Kraftfahrwesen und Fahrzeugmotoren Stuttgart/Research Institute of Automotive Engineering and Vehicle Engines Stuttgart (FKFS). Each class was two and a half days, and participants were able to choose to take from one to all courses. Format was non-credit graduate level seminar.

Watch here next spring for the announcement of the 2014 class schedule!
