Bharat's research focuses on optimal control of hybrid electric vehicles applied to sensor based look ahead control of vehicles affected by traffic conditions, driver behavior and other environmental factors. Development of accurate simulators, formulation of control algorithms using techniques from optimal control, evaluation of effect of control on fuel economy are all part of his research.
Formerly worked on EcoCAR2 project supporting controls development, prototyping and HIL testing.
