COVID Health and Safety information

As of August 3, Franklin County Department of Public Health recommends masking in all indoor spaces. This is recommended and not required at this time. We will update this information as the situation may update.

We will have a supply of masks, hand sanitizers and gloves available at the symposium registration/information desk but encourage you to bring a supply from your home, for maximum comfort. 

Most meals will be served buffet style, but with health and safety protocols followed in terms of servers washing hands, wearing nitrile gloves, etc.

Accommodations

Welcome to the IFAC-ACC Conference 2022-- August 27-September 1, 2022 room block with The Blackwell Inn and Pfahl Conference Center, the preferred hotel for the conference!

The Blackwell Inn, located on the campus of The Ohio State University and is your upscale choice when staying in Columbus.

• The discounted group rate is $159.00/night, plus tax and parking.
• Reservation requests must be made no later than Friday, August 5, 2022 to receive this rate.
• If you are requesting a reservation after Thursday, July 28, please contact the hotel directly for availability at toll free +1 866-247-4003.
• For those arriving prior to Saturday, August 26, The Blackwell will honor the conference rate of $159/night but you will need to phone, not book online. We're sorry for the inconvenience.
• For those staying longer than September 2, The Blackwell has notified us that they are sold out the nights of Friday, September 2 and Saturday, September 3, as our campus is hosting a home football game that Saturday. We are sorry for the inconvenience.

How to validate your final submission

• Each accepted paper should be covered by the registration of one of the co-authors.
• To associate a registration to an accepted paper please register using the main email address that is associated with the PaperCept system.
  • We have pre-populated the non-PaperCept registration system with the paper author emails, such that you will be prompted as an author, through the process.
  • You will receive a question during registration that asks if your paper is longer than 6 pages and if so, the system will add in the $150/per page, up to 8 pages.
• The corresponding registration fee must be paid within the deadline of the final submission of the accepted paper.
  • Please note that due to regulatory issues, our registration system is not interfaced with PaperPlaza, thus we have to manually confirm registrations after you have registered.
    • So long as you are registered by 11:59 p.m. on July 8, your paper will be accepted, regardless of when you upload your final paper. i.e., even if you upload after July 8, due to the issues and delays we have caused, we will honor your paper.

• Accepted papers which are not associated to a registration of one of the co-authors will neither be included in the symposium program nor in the proceedings.
• The final paper length is limited to 6 pages. A maximum of up to 2 extra pages (for a maximum length of 8 pages per paper) is allowed. Extra pages require the payment of $150/page.

• Logoed bag with one copy of electronic proceedings in USB thumb drive
• Daily continental breakfast and lunch + all-day coffee breaks
• Ticket for the welcome reception at The Blackwell
• Ticket for the networking (and recruiting) reception at The Ohio State University Center for Automotive Research
• Ticket for the tour of The Ohio Stadium
• Ticket to the banquet
• 2 paper uploads included in the registration fee and up to a total of 2 papers uploads with additional costs (the registrant must be a co-author of the associated paper(s); 6 pages/paper allowed, maximum 2 extra pages at additional cost of $150/page)

Student registrations include:

• A seat at all plenaries and workshops on August 29-31

• Because we believe that the Gala Dinner is the best place to promote your research and skills, we offer to each student the opportunity to attend to this event. Please send an e-mail to the organizer if you plan to not attend to this event.

Symposium workshop registration

The workshops will be held at the conclusion of the main conference, with the planned topics to be:

• New advances on connected and automated vehicles
• Electrification of commercial vehicles

Cancellations and refunds

After uploading a final paper no refund of the corresponding registration fee is possible. Cancellation and refund of registration fees that do not correspond to final paper uploads are possible. Requests must be made via email at humphrey.113@osu.edu with the subject “Cancellation AAC22 NAME SURNAME” until July 22, 2022. No refunds will be made after this date. Cancellations are subject to a $150 administrative fee.
