The goal of the High Performance Electric Drive Systems Lab is to conceive, design, fabricate and test electric drive systems, including electric machines, power converters and their controls. 

Capabilities:

• Test up to 1 MW 
• Propulsion motors, drives and controls for aviation/marine applications with focus in power density at relatively low rpm 
• Traction motors, drives and controls using Electronic Pole Switch methods with focus in extending the Constant Power Speed Range
